Technical Seminar: Recent International Research on LED Quality Metrics and New Lighting Regulations in Europe

DTU Risø Campus, Roskilde, Denmark
Monday, 7 October 2019

As LED lighting continues to penetrate lighting markets and take over conventional technologies in all applications, new metrics and research are on-going to address issues of quality and performance.  Policy makers use the new research to help establish lighting policies that promote energy-efficiency and protect consumers and the environment. Since 2010 the IEA 4E Solid State Lighting (SSL) Annex has supported member governments on how to best promote energy-efficient, high-quality LED lighting. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is cooperating with the SSL Annex to offer a one-day seminar to present recent research on health and testing, including topics such as temporal light modulation and lifetime. Key aspects of the new EU lighting regulation which takes effect in September 2021 will also be presented.
