The Australian testing laboratory CalTest proposes a new measurement method for determination of efficiency of new technology motors and motor-drive systems using output/input measurements.
The latest Annex benchmarking report which is an international comparison of the energy performance of refrigerator-freezers and freezers is now available. This is an update of an Annex report published in 2010. It examines variations in the scope and stringency of national minimum performance levels and other policies and shows key differences in product performance between countries over the 1996-2011 period.
The 4E 2012 Annual Report is now available
Following the recent publication of the full benchmarking reports for vending machines, standby power and retail display cabinets, the key policy observations from these reports have now been distilled into these two page summaries.
The IEA 4E Mapping and Benchmarking Annex runs Webinars (online seminars) to present the results and key conclusions for each product analysed to a wider audience. To date, there have been seven product analyses presented in this format and recordings of all of these webinars can be viewed at any time on this website.

The IEA 4E Mapping and Benchmarking Annex is pleased to publish a range of new reports on refrigeration products. The final benchmarking reports comparing the international energy performance of vending machines and commercial retail display cabinets are now available along with the updated mapping reports for domestic refrigerated appliances in 9 countries.
The IEA 4E Solid State Lighting (SSL) Annex is now running the 2013 Interlaboratory Comparison of SSL product testing.
The agenda for the Testing Centres Workshop at 4 December 2012 at the Motor Summit in Zurich is now available. Registration: www.motorsummit.ch, places are limited.

Results of Laboratory Comparison Tests on LED Lights
The analysis of a diverse number of datasets showing standby power performance from many products internationally is now available. The report focuses on 10 products or product categories; televisions, home audio, washing machines, microwave ovens, DVD and Blu-ray players/recorders, computer displays, notebook PCs, external power supplies, multifunction devices and set top boxes.
The first of a series of on-line seminars have now been completed with feedback from participants very positive. These webinars will be available as on-line recordings for others to watch later.
