Solid State Lighting is fast emerging as a key technology with potential to tackle climate change, however many share concerns that poor products may damage the market and set back acceptance of LED lighting.

Initiated by France, the United States and Japan, this new Annex will provide guidance on appropriate test methods and performance levels that can be used to identify quality SSLs and remove poorer performing products from the market before consumer credibilty is lost.

The Solid State Lighting Annex has already sparked interest amongst many countries and industry organisations and will commence work immediately.
